End of Year Celebrations – Mark Your Calendars!

Last Prayers of the Year – Wednesday, June 3 (8:25 am – 9:00 am – JS Gym) 

  • This will be our last time coming together as a community for Prayers during the 2025-2026 school year. Parents are welcome to attend, as always.

Friday, June 5 – Gator Day (12:25 pm – 3:00 pm)

  • Gator Day extends back to 1935, when students participated in various outdoor activities with their houses for a chance to win the “Gator Day Cup.” It is a day filled with competitive spirit, house pride, and, most importantly, FUN! 
  • All the information you need to know will be in next week’s edition of “The Weekly – Junior School.”

Monday, June 8 – Grade 6 Celebration (4:00 pm – 5:30 pm – JS Gym) 

  • This event is in honour of our Grade 6 students, and marks the end of their time at the Junior School, before “Crossing the Bridge” to Grade 7.
  • Grade 6 students and their families are invited.

Junior School Closing Ceremony – Wednesday, June 10 (2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Brenda Robson Hall)

  • This is a special time for us to come together, one last time in celebration of our year of learning and friendship. Students are asked to come to school, at the regular time, and in their #1 Dress. We will end our day together in song, and reflection.

Last Day of School – Thursday, June 11 (Early Staggered Dismissal)

  • Students will attend school for a half day, during which they will have the opportunity to say goodbye to their teachers and classmates. End-of-year certificates will be handed out on this day, and we will take pictures to send to families.
  • Dismissal Times:
    • JK-Gr.3
      • 11:15 pm – 11:30 pm
    • Gr.4-6
      • 11:25 am – 11:50 pm

Thank you to our Grade 5 helpers who are working with Ms. Lulu to reunite labelled items to their rightful owners. 

All unlabelled items will be on display in the Arts/STEM hallway all of next week. Families, caregivers, and students are encouraged to check for lost belongings before the summer. 

Unclaimed items will be donated to next year’s Used Uniform Sale, or brought to New Circles.

REMINDERS

All Library Books to be Returned by Friday, May 29 

As the school year draws to a close, it is time to return these library materials to their home base. All library books must be returned by May 29th.

If you would like a list of current check-outs, please email Ms. Rodd, our JS Librarian  at erodd@havergal.on.ca 

Please note that students will be allowed to borrow books over the summer, provided all books from the school year have been returned. 

CO-CURRICULAR PROGRAMMING 

Athletics:

  •  JS Athletics Schedule 
  • Congratulations to the following track & field athletes who came FIRST in the CISAA!
    • Charlotte G, 400m & relay
    • Brooke B, relay
    • Elsa J, Triple Jump & relay
    • Halle L, 800m & relay
    • Melody W, Shot Put
    • Anuta H, Long Jump
  • Our U12 Ultimate team had some exciting matchups, winning 3 of the 4 final games. Two of the wins came with incredible catches in the end zone in the last minute of play. 
  • Congratulations to the U12 softball team, who finished their season with a successful end-of-year tournament at Country Day School. They should be proud of their incredible progress with their batting and fielding! 

Clubs:

  • Spring Clubs have wrapped up for the year!
  • Should your child require after-school care, now that clubs have concluded, please email the Gator Care team before 9 am on the day it is required..

Staff & Faculty Appreciation Ivy Pub

The deadline to submit your daughter’s Staff Appreciation “Thank you” sign for our slide show has been extended to May 24. Please submit your photo here.

Final Pre-loved Uniform Intake

The final Pre-loved uniform intake for this school year is Wednesday, June 10, 8:00 – 11:30 am (EK Library).

Following this date, our collection bins in the Junior and Upper School will be closed for the summer. We will not be able to accept items during the summer months. Donation bins will reopen during our August sales.
