Dear JS Families,
We are excited to be participating in Thrive Week again this year, from JK to Grade 12! This is an opportunity for our whole community to come together to focus on wellbeing and to promote positive mental health for all. Throughout the week, students will learn about the “Thrive Five,” which includes the importance of moving more, sleeping soundly, saying Hi (Connection), eating well, and giving back.
Thank you to our Child and Youth Worker, Holly Fournier, who shared the following resource, from Positive Parenting Solutions, with their top picks for the Best Parenting Book for 2022, all of which help to support you and your family to thrive.
Sincerely,
Kate

Reducing the Spread of Respiratory Illnesses
We are sharing an important message from Toronto Public Health with regard to a number of steps that can be taken to help keep children and others safe from an increase in respiratory viruses among children including Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Influenza and COVID-19.
Please note that Toronto Public Health and Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health strongly recommend wearing a well-fitted mask in indoor public settings, including in schools and childcares. Upon entry to Havergal, masks will be made available.
To learn more about how to protect yourself, your family and your community from COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, we invite you to read the Government of Ontario’s Public Health Measures and Advice.
Comfy-Cozy Dress-Down Day on Friday, November 25
As part of our Thrive Week, students are invited to wear their comfiest/coziest clothes or PJs on Friday, November 25.
Dress for the Weather!
As we enter into the winter months, families are reminded to send your daughter with the appropriate outdoor gear, so that she can enjoy time outdoors. Winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, mitts, etc are all advised.
