Today marks our final blog for the 2021-2022 school year.
Congratulations to all of our students, families, faculty and staff for another successful end of the school year! It was so lovely to join together, in person, at our Closing Ceremony on Wednesday, to celebrate our year, say goodbye , and wish each other well for the summer. For those who were unable to attend, I have attached the RECORDING for you to watch at your convenience.
I am very much looking forward to welcoming people back in September! A very special congratulations and best wishes to our Grade 6s who will soon be “crossing the bridge” and starting their Upper School Journey!
Thank you for all of your continued support and partnership throughout the year.

We started today with our final JS Prayers of the year! It was such a blessing to join together in song and prayer, but was also an opportunity to pay sincere gratitude to those faculty and staff that will not be returning to Havergal next fall. Students, faculty and staff spoke of the many contributions of these individuals, and how much they will be missed. Those leaving include: Ms. Barrett, Ms. McGeown, Ms. Fraser, Ms. Bloomfield, Ms. Murphy, and Ms. Charlton.
As we head into our final days together for the 2021-2022 school year, I am mindful of all that this year has brought us, and am very much looking forward to the opportunity to come together one last time on Wednesday, June 15. This will be a time of celebration, community, and gratitude.
Sincerely,
Kate White – Head, Junior School

We encourage our community to show their support by purchasing their orange shirt, or orange shirt pin, from an Indigenous-owned company. We encourage you to visit orangeshirtday.org to see official suppliers.
Orange Shirt Day “opens the door to global conversation on all aspects of Residential Schools. It is an opportunity to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind” – Orangeshirtday.org
REMINDERS
Uniform Reminder & Updating – order before June 17
Students have grown over the past two years and we have found that their uniforms have not grown along with them and some items are in need of replacement.
Happy Gator Day! What a thrill it was to bring back this beloved Junior School event for the first time in two years. Students brought all their house pride as they participated in competitive events like the “sponge race,” “egg and spoon relays,” and “hoola hoop” challenges. Even the teachers got in on the fun. It’s safe to say that it was a fabulous day oth friendly competition, community building, and sheer athleticism! A HUGE thank you to our Phys Ed Department who spearheaded the event, and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Finally, thank you to our Grade 6 students who acted as coaches, equipment managers, and as spirit leaders.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend.
Sincerely,
Kate White – Head, Junior School

Uniform Reminder & Updating
As we approach the end of the school year and look ahead to the fall, we wanted to connect with you regarding the Havergal uniform. Havergal chooses to have a uniform to denote pride in membership in our community. In addition, the uniform signals that we expect that our students will distinguish themselves in intellectual, artistic and athletic achievements, in service to others, and in leadership to the community, rather than in dress.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have shifted the uniform requirements to adapt to the needs due to the COVID-19 guidelines that had to be put in place. Additionally, students have grown over the past two years and we have found that their uniforms have not grown along with them and some items are in need of replacement.
As we plan ahead, we are writing to seek your assistance and partnership to ensure that your child has all of the necessary uniform items for September 2022. Here is the link for the list of uniform requirements for your review. In addition, please find here the Online Store Information and a link to the website to order new pieces for your child.
Please note that the Green & Gold store is closed from June 17 – August 8.
In order to ensure the necessary items are available prior to the start of the year, please place orders for new items before June 17.
Return All Library Books
All library books must be returned by Monday, June 6th
