Message from Head of Junior School: October 4, 2019

Dear Junior School Parent:

If you were anywhere in the GTA today, you may very well have heard the cheering from the Junior School Lower Pitch!  Students faced the teachers in a soccer game at lunch, each giving the other a run for their money.  While the teachers won this first game of the year, we will face each other again soon for a game of basketball!  It was a fantastic way to build school spirit, get some exercise, and most importantly enjoy each other’s company on a bright and chilly Friday afternoon.

Wishing you a lovely fall weekend.

Yours sincerely,

Kate White

The Junior School annual Harvest Festival takes place on Friday, October 11 at 8:30 am in the Brenda Robson Hall (Upper School). Parents, family members, and guests are invited to a coffee reception in the Temerty Commons immediately following the service.

This formal service is an ideal and heart-warming start to the Thanksgiving break and a wonderful way for our community to gather and celebrate all that we have to be thankful for. We look forward to welcoming you and your family members!

Beyond the Ivy Walls

Ivy

Our Havergal Junior School students pursue a vast array of activities beyond our walls. Their dedication and accomplishments are impressive, and we want to give students the opportunity to share their efforts with our community. Highlighting and celebrating our girls’ learning beyond our ivy walls not only allows us to get to know each other in different ways, it may also serve as inspiration for others.

Accomplishments in any field are welcome: athletics, arts, academics, philanthropy, hobbies and more. Endeavors that represent the Havergal values of integrity, inquiry, compassion and/or courage are also encouraged.

How to submit:

If your daughter has an accomplishment for Beyond the Ivy Walls that she would like to share, please submit a photo and a short description using the link on the weekly blog. Beyond The Ivy Walls Submissions

When to submit:

Submissions can be made at anytime. Pictures and descriptions will be posted on the “Beyond The Ivy Walls” bulletin board outside of the Junior School gymnasium. Students will be recognized in Prayers so our community can celebrate their acts of excellence and perhaps be inspired to try something new or do something great beyond the ivy walls of Havergal College Junior School.
