On December 3rd, you may contact the Front Office to request up to 2 extra tickets. These seats will be given out on a first come first served basis.

As tickets become available you will be notified by the front office the week of December 10th.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Winter Clothing Drive for New Circles

As in previous years, we will be collecting gently used outdoor winter gear (coats, snowpants, boots, hats, mitts, etc…)  for New Circles, a long-time Havergal Community Partnership.  Drop-off bins will be placed in front of the Learning Hub.

Final day for donations – Friday, December 14

Grade 5 Needs Your Help!

Grade 5 would like to invite the Havergal Junior School Community to contribute to the Canstruction® Design Challenge (CLICK HERE  to learn more about this project). Here is how you can help:

Bring in a Green Can to School!

  • Each student, staff and faculty member is asked to bring in one can of food where the label is coloured primarily in green.
  • Each grade will use the cans to construct a Christmas Tree with the purpose of raising awareness about local food banks.
  • The cans will be donated to the North York Harvest Food Bank.

Make a $10 donation to go towards the project in exchange for participation in one or all of three fun-filled activities organized by the Grade 5 students.

  • Activities will take place in December, January, and February (Dates TBD, during Lunch Recess). Activities may include things such as: Snowman Building Competitions, an “Ugly Sweater and Movie Day,” Lunchtime Crafts.
  • We encourage the girls to find creative ways to earn the $10 at home, by doing helpful things such as: helping to shovel snow for a neighbour, clearing the table, walking the dog…
  • Students will be asked to share how their earned their money, so we can learn from each other.

Students are asked to  bring in their can and  $10 on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7

Havergal’s 125th Anniversary

In 2019 Havergal will mark a significant milestone: our 125th anniversary. We will commemorate the occasion with a special performance to celebrate Havergal’s 125 years of academic excellence.

We invite you to join us on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Roy Thomson Hall at 7 pm for Past, Present, Future, an evening of dance, drama and musical performances.

Tickets for this evening occasion will be released in mid-January 2019 and we will share additional details with you in the coming months. Please note that this performance will replace our spring music concerts for this year and will be mandatory for students in Grades 4 to 12. Similar to Carol Service, students will be seated with their peers and teachers in their Houses. We are excited to embark on this journey together and the year of celebrations to come!

Gator Care

Time has flown by here at Havergal, and the girls already are feeling a growing excitement for the holiday break and the New Year! With that in mind, we are ramping up the crafts activities in the after-school Gator Care: iron-on beads, ornaments, wreaths, dreidels, snowflakes and personalized stationery galore! The girls are encouraged as well to help lead and guide some of these crafting stations as they are underway, and many of the older girls find sincere enjoyment in helping the younger ones out.
